Misc: Hair Spray
Brushes: size 8, 6, 3 drybrushes, detail brushes including liner.
Basecoat the coat, fur quilt area, hood, snowflakes and the snowman arms, hat and scarf with a watery mix of 922 Navy (2 water: 1 Navy).
Base coat the face 940 Toffee,
Base coat the beard and gloves 903 Smoke.
Basecoat the snow and snowman in the scene 933 Little Boy Blue.
Basecoat the sky 925 Medium Blue.
Basecoat the tree in the scene 924 Teal.
Wet brush the face with 909 Gentle Flesh and blush the cheeks and lips by using the same brush tipped very lightly in 913 Blush and drybrushing those areas lightly.
Drybrush the beard and hair 904 Light Grey. Highlight the hair and beard using the same brush tipped in 900 White.
Drybrush the fur with 904 Light Grey.
Drybrush the coat, hood, snowman hat-arms-muffs-scarf and the dark quilt squares (see picture) with a mixture of (1:3) 926 Country Blue and 922 Navy. Highlight the coat and hood by drybrushing with the same brush loaded primarily with 926 country Blue.
Drybrush the light quilt blocks on the chest with 933 Little Boy Blue.
Dillute some 942 Raspberry light with water and float this mixture into the horizon line of the sky. Blend the color up by drybrushing the wet color upward.
Drybrush the sky in the scene and the large snowflake with a mixture of 925 Medium Blue and 933 Little Boy Blue. If you pounce the color on while drybrushing, the sky will have the appearance of distant snow falling.
Drybrush the snowman and snow 900 White. Using the same brush, lightly blush the snowman’s cheeks with 913 Blush. Float a diluted mixture of 925 Medium Blue and water around the snowman and on the snow horizon lines.
Drybrush the tree with a mixture (1:3) of 900 White and 924 Teal.
Drybrush the gloves 904 Light Grey.
Dilute 922 Navy with water (1: 4) and float this diluted color around the beard on the fur, in the creases by the arms and the crease by the belt.
Paint the remaining quilt blocks the following colors (see picture for placement) 942 Raspberry Light, 926 Country Blue, 901 Bone, 922 Navy.
Paint the lines in the quilt, belt buckle and the snowflake detail 972 Silver.
Paint a line of 922 Navy on edge of the sleeves and hood.
Paint the snowman hat 936 Raspberry Sherbet paint stripes on the scarf 922 Navy and 972 Silver.
Paint the eyes and buttons on the snowman 922 Navy.
Paint the Santa eyes 900 White, the iris 925 Medium Blue, the pupils and lashes 902 Black. Apply 900 White in select areas of the scene and on the santa as fallen snow. Spray the scene with hair spray and sprinkle 977 Ultra Glitz into the wet hair spray.
