The following Kimple Colors were used on this project: 902, 946, 918, 922, 972, 923, 926, 713, 924, 900, 925, 942, 913, 917, 977 Brushes: small, medium and large drybrushes and small detail brushes
Basecoat the following areas with these respective colors: shovel areas 902 Black, snowman and snow 946 Whisper Blue, trees 918 Forest Green, hat, earmuffs, scarf, arms & buttons 922 Navy. Dry brush the upper portion of the shovel with a mixture (1:3) of 972 Silver and 902 Black in a drybrush. Drybrush the lower area of the shovel from the snow up first with 923 Intense blue and then with 926 Country Blue. Create a "dusk" effect by tipping the same drybrush that you dry brushed the Country Blue onto the sky in 713 Primrose Intense Translucents and begin drybrushing that hue from the snow up. Blend the colors together by drybrushing a small amount of the 926 Country Blue over the entire sky area. Re-basecoat the trees 918 Forest Greeen if necessary (if they erroneously became sky colored in areas). Drybrush the trees 924 Teal. Add 900 White to the Teal loaded drybrush and lightly drybrush the trees further to desired lightness. Re-basecoat the snow areas 946 Whisper Blue and wetbrush the snow and snowman 900 White. Use a small soft brush to float diluted 922 Navy around the snowman, under the trees and the horizon lines. Re-basecoat the arms, scarf, hat, muffs and buttons if necessary. Lightly drybrush these areas with 925 Medium Blue. Paint stripes of 925 Med. Blue and 942 Raspberry Light on the hat band and scarf. Blush the cheeks with a tiny amount of 900 White and 913 Blush in a small drybrush. Paint the eyes and mouth line 902 White. Paint the Nose 917 Sunset Orange. Paint the snowflakes in the sky 900 White. Paint snow on the trees and snowman using 900 White. If desired, spray the shovel with hairspray and sprinkle 977 Ultra Glitz into the wet hair spray. The hair spray will dry and the glitter will remain adhered |
